Yesterday started as a terrible day. Jack was in an all around bad mood and let me know it by throwing food in my face, taking his shoes off immediately after I put them on and get him in the stroller, refusing to wear his baseball cap (which I insist upon to keep the sun off his face when we are outside) and his latest game of running away from me when I need to put his shoes on. Hence my bad mood.
Johann also had a bad day at the office for various reasons. We also were quite snappy with one another which is very strange for us as we basically don't ever fight.
Then in the evening when Johann came home he said, "I know why we have both had bad days. It's because we are supposed to go to our neighbors and SOMEONE doesn't want us to go." I decided he was quite right and so we determined to go even though our days were so bad we just wanted to sit and watch a movie.
This is the 4th or 5th time we have tried to get together with our neighbors. We've asked them over, they've asked us over, but something or someone always seems to stop us from meeting. But, not last night. Almost, but not quite.
We ended up having a fabulous time with our neighbors and are looking forward to meeting with them again. They have a 5 year old little boy who already speaks English and is just adorable. All in all, our bad day turned into a good one.
Sometimes it seems like we work and work and still don't see much progress in our work. But,this week was one of those weeks where all the previous weeks and months of work showed some fruition. We both had fabulous discussions with our students and we have had an evening with our neighbors. It takes one to two years for the average Eastern European to make a decision for Christ -- that translates into alot of discussions and evenings out with them for us. We are in the early stages of that. But, we have shared the gospel with several people and continue to meet with them. We want to bring them one step closer to Jesus every time we see them and we are getting excited because we can see that happening.
